Computerized Vickers Hardness Tester

VHT-50/ 250IPC

The computerized Vickers / Brinell Hardness tester has a C-type load frame. The job is positioned on the test table and lifted by the hand wheel to set the focal point. The required load is applied on the job and removed by a motorized system. After indexing the plate, optics will come in place of indentation & will transfer the image of indentation to the Camera. The image is further digitalized and processed by PC/ TPC for measurement. The diagonal / diameter of the image can be measured automatically / semi-automatically / manually to get Vickers / Brinell Hardness value. computerized Vickers hardness tester is an advanced instrument designed to measure the hardness of materials using the Vickers hardness testing method. It combines the traditional Vickers hardness test with computerized technology and software to automate and optimize the testing process. The diagonal / diameter of the image can be measured automatically / semi-automatically / manually to get Vickers / Brinell Hardness value. Computer-integrated Vickers hardness measurement is an advanced instrument designed to measure the hardness of materials using the Vickers hardness testing method. It combines the traditional Vickers hardness test with computerized technology and software to automate and optimize the testing process.

Key Features

  1. Principle of Operation: The computerized Vickers hardness tester operates on the principle of indentation hardness testing. It uses a diamond or hard alloy indenter in the shape of a square-based pyramid to create an indentation on the material’s surface. The indenter is pressed into the material under a controlled test load for a specific duration.
  2. Automated Test Cycle: The computerized Vickers hardness tester features an automated test cycle that ensures consistent and accurate results. The test load is applied automatically, eliminating variations caused by manual force application. The duration of the test load can also be precisely controlled, enhancing the repeatability of measurements.
  3. Digital Imaging System: Advanced computerized Vickers hardness testers are equipped with digital imaging systems. These systems employ high-resolution cameras or sensors to capture images of the indentation. The images are then analyzed by specialized software to determine the indentation size and calculate the Vickers hardness value.
  4. Software and Data Analysis: Computerized Vickers hardness testers come with dedicated software for data acquisition and analysis. The software provides a user-friendly interface for controlling the test parameters, capturing and analyzing indentation images, and calculating hardness values. It may also offer features for data storage, statistical analysis, and generating comprehensive test reports.
  5. Measurement Accuracy: Computerized Vickers hardness testers offer improved measurement accuracy compared to manual methods. The digital imaging system enables precise measurement of indentation dimensions, eliminating human errors in reading and interpreting results. Additionally, the automated test cycle reduces variations caused by inconsistent force application.
  6. Load Control and Calibration: Computerized hardness testers often feature load control mechanisms to ensure accurate and controlled application of the test load. They may incorporate closed-loop feedback systems that monitor and adjust the load during testing. Periodic calibration of the instrument is necessary to maintain measurement accuracy, and many computerized testers provide calibration functions within the software.
  7. User-Friendly Interface: The software interface of computerized Vickers hardness testers is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. It allows operators to easily set up test parameters, select measurement modes, and view and analyze test results. Some software may also provide additional features such as image editing tools or customizable reporting templates.
  8. Application Range: Computerized Vickers hardness testers are used in various industries and applications where accurate hardness testing is crucial. They are employed in quality control, research and development, materials science, metallurgy, manufacturing, and other fields that require precise hardness measurements.
