Brinell Hardness Testers

Brinell hardness testers are a type of hardness testing machine used to measure the hardness of materials based on the Brinell hardness scale. The Brinell hardness test is widely used for metals, particularly those with coarse microstructures or non-uniform materials. The Brinell hardness test involves applying a known load (usually through a hardened steel ball indenter) onto the material’s surface and measuring the resulting indentation. The hardness value is calculated based on the diameter of the indentation and the applied load. The test provides a hardness value represented as HB, which is the quotient of the applied load divided by the curved surface area of the indentation.
